Every year, hundreds of events, festivals and activities take place across Victoria celebrating our cultural diversity. We have access to some of the best entertainment and educational resources in the world right here on our doorstep and every week something new is on offer around the state.
Asian Food FestivalFrom Chinatown to the outlying suburbs, Melbourne has one of the best restaurant communities in the world - diverse, exciting, adventurous, value for money and best of all - tasty! Discover the delights of Chinese, Malaysian, Indian, Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisines as restaurants open their doors and bring out their best dishes. Special menus will be available at some restaurants and make sure you keep an eye out for special events and activities. Cooking demonstrations, cooking competitions and culinary awards are also highlights, with the aim to promote and recognise excellence in the Asian restaurant industry.

Kimono: Osaka's Golden Age Discover breathtakingly beautiful kimono and accessories from the glory days of Japan. This extraordinary exhibition, highlighting the wealth and prosperity of the Edo and Meiji periods (1850-1900), is showing exclusively at the Immigration Museum. Direct from the Osaka Museum of History, the stunning collection celebrates the Immigration Museum’s 10th birthday and 30 years of the Melbourne-Osaka sister-city relationship.

Resonant Visions: Contemporary Video from Latin America This free exhibition focuses on a small but diverse selection of works by four contemporary artists who have used video to explore different dimensions of the changing conditions of our times. The exhibition considers ideas that have dominated the social and political landscape in recent years: relationships between the individual and the collective, distinctions between regional identities and global perspectives in postcolonial contexts, and the transience and resilience of human existence.
